This 2026, the People in Red Barcelona Solidarity Gala celebrates its 16th edition, further consolidating its position as an international benchmark. On Monday, May 11, the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya once again became the setting for a night where science, solidarity, and the city of Barcelona came together.
People in Red Barcelona 2026 delivered a vibrant edition, featuring a show hosted by Sílvia Abril and Toni Acosta, with a script by El Terrat. The evening kicked off with DJ Genna, and combined humor, music, and emotion through standout performances by Joan Dausà and Amaral, who created some of the most memorable moments of the Gala Solidaria. The celebration continued late into the night with music by DJ Fede Sardà and signature cocktails by Manel Vehí, including the exclusive People in Red Barcelona cocktail.
The culinary experience was led by chef Nandu Jubany and his team at Jubany Events, who designed a dinner especially for the occasion, showcasing their renowned standard of excellence.
Ambassadors Martina Klein and Alex Corretja renewed their commitment to the Solidarity Gala, helping to strengthen its visibility and international reach.
This year also marked the launch of the People in Red Barcelona Solidarity Award, created to recognize outstanding contributions to community health and social awareness. In its first edition, the award, a sculpture by Jaume Plensa, was presented to filmmaker and actor Eduardo Casanova for his bold perspective and his efforts to break down stigma.
Supported by the commitment and generosity of its attendees and collaborators, the Gala Solidaria raised 838,769€, a meaningful contribution to advancing research into infectious diseases.
People in Red Barcelona remains firmly committed to its mission: raising funds to support clinical research led by the Foundation for the Fight Against Infections, headed by Dr. Bonaventura Clotet. The foundation works to develop innovative strategies to strengthen the immune system and combat infectious diseases, which continue to account for 1 in 5 deaths worldwide.
Infectious diseases remain one of the major challenges facing science today and in the future. We are currently confronted with global threats such as emerging epidemics, the rise of antibiotic resistance, globalization, climate change, and natural disasters, all of which contribute to the spread of infections and highlight the urgent need for continued research.
Thanks to the participation of attendees in the People in Red Barcelona 2026 Solidarity Raffle, an additional €60,965 was raised, contributing to the final total.
